The Little Lions Fellowship 2025 – Let’s Talk! .

Educating a generation of mental health advocates. For a society to normalise mental health conversations, we need leaders who drive change. The Little Lions Fellowship develops young role models across Cape Town who want to be part of the change and lead the conversations of growth and healing.

What it is About

Join the Little Lions Fellowship to become a leader in mental health advocacy. Every year, we select 40 young leaders from Cape Town for a comprehensive fully funded program of mental health workshops, coaching, and a community challenge.
With only 500 psychologists serving the public sector in our country, the need for community leaders to advocate for mental health is urgent. By joining the fellowship, you’ll become part of a network dedicated to normalising mental health conversations.
Together, let’s create a future where mental well-being is a priority for all! Are you the person we are looking for? Fill out the form below to join the movement.

Why do we offer it?

At Little Lions, we host daily free mental health workshops for children in under-resourced communities with the aim of making mental health resources easily accessible so that children can navigate through life’s challenges with a profound understanding of their mental well-being. Yet, we realise that we cannot do this alone. To encourage leaders to join our mission of normalising mental health conversations & creating a Pride of mental health coaches encouraging connections between the fellows & beyond.

How does it work?

The fellowship runs over the course of 6 weeks from July until October which is Mental Health Awareness Month. During which Little Lions hosts immersive workshops where Fellows are trained by a team of psychologists and Little Lions coaches with extensive experience. There will be a lot of learning, sharing, discussions, group work and creativity to boost the mental health of our fellows. Upon completion of the workshop, the fellows will be divided into 4 groups to do the Little Lions mental health challenge: to come up with a community event where they put all their newly acquired knowledge into practice.

How to apply?

Applications open in June. During this period, potential fellows can sign up and Little Lions will enrol the fellows into the programme. The workshops begin in September and the mental health challenges will happen in October. After this, the fellows join our network of Little Lions Pride Advocates for ongoing peer support and advocacy, using their own Little Lions Mental Health Conversation Starter kit.
